Utility to Test Ports 1

Attached is a utility to help you determine if a port is active. i.e. 7070 or 7071 etc...
Run this program and enter IP address and port number:
Example: paping 192.168.42.1 -p TCP 7070

Hopefully you find this useful.

 
Thanks IPOTS. Perfect timing because I'll actually use this later in the afternoon to test some ports on a VMware App server issue I have.
 
Why don't we just use the following in powershell? That's what my IT department said btw, not me. Don't shoot the messenger.

Test-NetConnection 10.1.99.252 -p 7071
 
paping is a continuous ping.
Powershell is just a regular ping

Having the continuous pings helps in troubleshooting.
Having access to the Powershell is sometimes restricted without Administrator access.

This is just another option to have.
