I am trying to get my NDMP backups configured correctly and I need to know if the Network Appliance we're running has UTF8 enabled or not. I believe we are running a version of Linux RedHat - how do I find out if UTF8 is enabled?

I am not well-versed in Linux, or the NetApp filer so please help?

Thank you,
LJG

Which version of Data ONTAP is the filer running?

I don't know - how would I find that?

System configuration:
NetApp Release 6.2.1

That should be ndmp version 4. In filerview, you can click manage volumes, and drill down to the volume in question to determine if UTF8 was enabled. If not, it is not recommended to change this after data has been written to the volume.
