Does anyone knows how to have open and close UDP/TCP ports when using WinXP and a USR9001 PPPoe Modem?

I live in Brazil and the local support simply can´t help me.

Thanks in advance.

I have not used this modem, but lets assume its just a modem and not a gateway router. You would need a seperate firewall installed downstream the modem. Windows XP has a built-in firewall that can be configured, but I suggest going with a program like zone alarm which will give you a little more control over firewalling ports. And as a matter of general principle I wouldn't trust a firewall to protect my computer that was made by microsoft, as they have no idea what security means. John D. Saucier
