USR215686 connection problem

Hi, I have a connection problem with a USR215686 V90 modem installed as RAS on Windows 2000 server(also with NT4 in another locations), some users with new laptops (Vaio, Compaq) can´t connect to server, they dial, the modem answer but negotiation never end, after about 30 second the connection is droped. ¿ How can I correct this problem ?
