/usr/etc/getty sdt.9600 console failing sleeping

I have restored the backup of the unix box. The IP configuration is done.

Once i reboot the system it is giving problem with the console & resulting in the following error.

May 29, 2002 15:12:32 init '/usr/etc/getty cons8 console' failing, sleeping
May 29, 2002 15:12:32 init '/usr/etc/getty sdt.9600 console' failing, sleeping

over and over and over...


This is on a sparc 5 running sunOS 2.6 Any idea on how I can get this thing back up and running? Any hints, flames, rtfms will be accepted...:>

edited /etc/ttytab

console "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" sun off local secure
ttya "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" vt100 on local secure

to

console "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" vt100 on local secure
ttya "/usr/etc/getty std.9600" vt100 off local secure
