Using XML to populate an HTML page

Hello All;

I am a newbie to this forum and to the XML, i have updated existing xml files but never built one scratch.

I would like to be able to upload an xml file to populate three fields in a proof page that i have set up for our clients. This will eventually be turned over to an admin so i am trying to set this so it will be as easy as possible for her.

the fields i need would be:
an image
Issue number
due date.

If there is a really good tutorial site or any direction someone can give that would be great.
