I have been using XCOPY, in a simple batch job, for some time now, to copy data from a production server to a backup machine. However having selected a new folder (Collected Business Done) I get the error message "too many parameters" . I assume this is because of the spaces in the Folder name - I can't change this 3rd party folder.

Does anyone know of a way to delimit the folder name to make my copy work?

Thanks

LewM

Include the folder \ file name in quotes ie:-

xcopy "c:\program files\dddklsdal\dsddksd"

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Alternatively, us 6 chars + ~1 as in
C:\Mydocu~1

Who were you addressing the sarcasm to ? The stuff about the wooley question and the F1 etc. Keep that sort of advice to yourself.

Lol, that is not meant to you!, that is my signature!

And BTW, it is good advice! Try it from time to time!
