Hi
I need to combine some tekst-files and proces the result in excel.
I presume combining of text-files could be done best via word.
Than I need automation from an excel macro to start-up word en let word make the combination. save to disk en close word.

What syntax is best for that from withi excel-macro?

hi,

Text files: What kind of data do you presume can be best combined in Word?

for a NUANCE![tongue]

If you would let us know what are you trying to accomplish, somebody here can help you.
Don't assume you have to use Word, chances are you can do it all in Excel is you need later to 'proces the result in excel', but we do not know what you want to do...

Have fun.

Text files" is a whole lot broader in scope than ".csv files", which implies tabular data. That fact alone would tend to lead me away from Word and toward Excel!

As Andy has stated, tell us WHAT you need to accomplish, not HOW you think it ought to be accomplished.

Is this a one time project, or ongoing?

When you say, "I need autonmation," you will get better results in forum707.
