Using Word as your e-mail editor with Outlook 98

Hello again,

Can anyone explain why it is so difficult for an Outlook 98 client to use Word as it's e-mail editor? It seems to virtually lock the PC with the Winword process running at 75% upwards in Task Manager.

OS - XP PRO & NT4
