Can someone please explain to me how to access directories with spaces in them (such as c:\Program Files\) from /mnt/win ?

You will need to quote the dir name that have spaces in them.
e.g. cd "\mnt\win\program files"

Its supposed to be "/" not "\". Sorry for the typo. ;p
