Hello Everyone;
I'm trying to get a web page to display on an Access97 form and so far I'm finding nothing but gotchas.
Office 97 (or is it part IE3.0) comes with the WebBrowser control but it fails with my system which has IE5.5. Apprently the file in question (shdocvw.dll) is replaced by the new version of IE. Microsoft has an article saying that something in Access and the way it handles ActiveX controls causes the control to fail. They suggest upgrading to Acc2000. Grrr...
So then I'm off to look for a new control - no dice. Does anyone know of a simple substitute control?
Or could one wrap the new control into a newly created control using vb5? The idea being a sort of translator but how to make sure the new control works in Access? Any ideas?
Or I can locate an old version of the file but how can I use it without uninstalling the new file. (It's probally needed by IE5.5) Any Ideas?
Thankyou in advance for listening....
Michelle
