We have Small Business Server, with a network and an ADSL internet connection. We have got VPN working, and initially I have 3 external users. One user who neven comes to the office, and myself, and one person who is not very IT savvy but could use access to her files and email on the server from home.

My external user mostly uses email through Outlook Web Access, it seems sensible to give them Outlook, and use VPN to connect them to the server as if they are in the office, and leave it running whenever they are logged on rather than having to check for new email through OWA. Is this sensible?

I have started to use VPN at home to connect to work, but If I stop working then start surfing without closing down the VPN all Internet trafic goes through the server, and because we are both using ADSL (home and the office) the speed is slow, and we are using 3 times as much bandwidth/quota on both connections. I can handle this but it is clunky. I dont realy want to use Split Tunneling.

My last user will probably find it too dificult to connect and disconnect manually.

Is there any way of automating VPN conection and disconnection?

And any other sugestions on how to use VPN to get the best and most productive use.
