Hi.
Wonder if anyone seen this one before...

IPO 6.0 (18), VMpro 6.0(44)installed on Win2008 R2 64bit.

This one customers IT staff refuses to let any user in on the server, so I've installed VMpro Client on another computer for them to use to change their openhours and voiceprompts. But when they use the client remote all the callflows has disappeared the next time someone logs in with VMP client. No different if I log in on the server.
I´d appreciate any ideas of why this happens.

Demand a stand alone server where only you and the IT guy has access to.
No acces then no vmpro :)

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

A dedicated server for the VM Pro is always a good idea Keeping the customer away form the programming is even beter, most customer changes can be accomodated by configuring 1 or more inetrnal menus on the VM itself

1) configure a menu on the system to enable the uses to change greetings without requireing access to the VMP Client (Edit Playlist)

2) I dont imagine working hours change very much/often use user variables to swich between anumber of pre-configured timetables again controled by a menu

Thanks for the input. Guess the concensus is to keep customer as far away as possible :)

Tried it on another system with the same setup, same thing. Forwarded problem to our bussiness partner.

At least you can replicate it.

I wonder if they're getting the pop-up on the remote client that says something like "The callflow on the client is different that the one on the server would you like to: download, replace, etc" (I'm not actually looking at it right now, going from a very iffy memeory).

I bet they're NOT hitting download

No, downloading and uploading seems ok. Can´t browse for the VM server though. I'm pretty sure it has to do with them not having admin rights or some other networkissue.
I got them to use preconfigured buttons instead, so were both happy :)

Perhaps they can't browse for the server as that does a broadcast, broadcasts are only within their own subnet/network? :)

If I can browse for the IPO with the Manager I don´t see why I shouldn´t be able to browse for the VM server with the VM client.

i have had this issue before but i was using a different client version then what the server was. I.E a 5.0 client on a 4.2 server.
