Using Visual Studio Standard for existing SSRS

I have a problem that I had written several SSRS reports using the trial edition of Visual Studio, the Professional ed.
Now we purchased the Standard edition. What is happening is when I try to call up the reports, there is an error message that I cannot use .RPTPROJ objects with the VS I have. Does this make any sense if so, what can i do if anyhing other than to upgrade?

Do you have SQL Server client tools installed? I would think you could design these with SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, which is a version of Visual Studio 2008.
