I need to update a Y/N field in AR1_CustomerMaster for many hundreds of records. I tried an update query using Linked table in Access, but my ODBC drive is read only. (And I'm stumped installing the newer R/W ODBC driver, so...) I have used VI to export records. Now, can I use VI to update a field in existing AR1 records? I can make a csv file with the division and customer numbers I want to update. But I can't see how to do an update on existing records (instead of importing new AR1's). Am I making any sense whatever?

Hi. VI will allow you to do this.

Whacha need to do is an import job that imports all primary key fields (Which already exist), and your check box field value.

When importing, it will know the record exists because it is a duplicate, so will know to update your check box.

Just be sure to use all of your primary key fields, or it will enter new records with a bunch of blank data.

You will need to change the validation rules also so it doesn't look at anything not included.
