I recently upgraded my RH installation from 6.2 to 7.1 and now Veritas will not back it up. The box is used as a firewall running ipcahins but even if I disable the firewall the client connection is refused. Any suggestions?

Releases of Red Hat after 6.2 use single configuration files located in /etc/xinetd.d for remote services in place of /etc/services. By default these services are turned off so depending on how Veritas connects to the client you should just have to go into the xinetd.d directory and edit the rsh or rlogin configuration file to turn it on (Not to secure for a firewall). We use Red Hat for one of our servers here and had a problem with rsh and rlogin once we upgraded from 6.2 to 7.0 so I hope this helps.
