I am working on a project in school. I'm on a university mainframe under JCL/MVS using COBOL85 and CICS to develop a system. Is there any way to use VB for the purpose of providing a graphical GUI instead of the text screens in CICS and still use COBOL for the program? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way you could call COBOL programs - that would do a job or return a list of results - from your PC?
If TCP/IP is supported on your MVS box you may well have the "r" commands (rcp - remote copy, rcmd - remote command, rexec - remote execute, remsh - remote shell)
