Is it possible to get vb to behave like a packet filtering firewall? The reason I am interested in this is to be able to see what programs are using my network connections and how much of it they are using, as well as where their traffic is going to.

This could be an interesting project......

Any ideas?

Hmmm, probably a couple of other things too.

You're right about the project, Troy. It could be interesting.

Thanks for the replys....

I have been thinking about the firewall and I ahve come to the conclusion that it will require the use of the winsock control, but I am not sure how to apply it to this type of problem. I have a couple of examples of vb code that monitors the tcp/ip trafic in and out of a nic using the api. But this is limited to the amount of bytes that have been transfered..
