Using VAS to authenticate Unix to AD

Hello,
I am currently looking at ways to authenticate Unix users to a Microsoft Active Directory domain. I ran across some infromation on a product called VAS, while researching this issue. Has anybody used this product and if so did you find it helpful or a waist of time and effort.
