Using Variable

Hi
I am new to VB and was wonderin if anybody could help me with this.... I have a variable which i have stored in a cell in an excel worksheet. The problem is when I try to call that Variable using a macro in a formula somewhere else in that sheet it gives a NAME? error. I am basically just trying to add that variable which is a constant to a column in the sheet.
Any kind of Suggestions are welcome....

I guess you have written a custom public function in Excel and then using it in your worksheet.

Can you post the function?
