I have an old beater computer that has a 12 GB hard drive in it, but I recently sold another computer that I had with an 80 Gb in it. The 12 Gb has WME and the other has XP service Pack 2. I want to use the 12 Gb as the master and the 80Gb as the slave but I dont want to have to reformat the 80gb, i need to pull some info off of it. I hooked the 12 as master and the 80 as slave on the computer but it windows (not the bios) only shows the 12gb and the cd-rom drive. I go into control panel -> device manager it's there but it wont let me access it...anyways does anyone know how I can use both hard drives?? without having to reformat either of them...thanks!

Question - what filestore was XP (80GB) using? If ntfs, ME can't read it ( has soem freeware which can remedy this).

Also - how old is your machine? (does the 80Gb drive show correctly on the POST screen - your mobo may be restricted to drives up to 32GB).

nahhh...updated bios...used an 80 on this compy before....but thanks for the link....i forgot all about the ntfs file system...your awsome thanks for the help...
