Hello, I'm converting an Access 97 database to SQL Server 2000. When I take run it though the Upsize Wizard I get a overflow message. Researching it on Microsoft site, they seem to tell you not to use the wizard and use the DTS package from SQL Server. Is this correct? I thought you should use the upsize wizard because it keeps info like indexes, etc...

Thanks

Don

Do you have a later version of Access available i.e. 2000. If so, try using that version to do the upsizing. I have upsized a few databases in Access 2000 most without a problem. I had a problem with a larger app, but these can be broken down to smaller apps to do the upsizing.

Hey, I'm looking at doing the same thing. It looks like the upsizing wizard for Access 97 isn't really compatible with SQL Server 2K:

And it sounds like you've seen this kb relating to the overflow message:

I haven't attempted using DTS yet, so I'm not sure how that will affect relationships/indexes/etc. It looks like the best upgrade path might be to upgrade to access 2k first...

Let us know if you find something that works.
