Whenever I install the Server version of Red Hat 6.2 I cannot use the GUI by typing startx. Is that normal?

I don't have Linux at my new job but as far as I remember the server install of Red Hat 6.1 doesn't install X-Windows. If you need to install X-Windows do a custom install and choose all the necessary X-Windows packages Mise Le Meas,

You are absolutely correct Mighty... the server versions of RH6.1 & RH6.2 do not install X as part of the default installation.

0251, you will need to either do a custom installation, or install the X stuff after the server is installed.
