I have a parameter that allows descrete values and also a range of values to be pulled. I need to be able to use the select expert starts with the values in my parameter. I can only use the start with when I enter one value, it will not let me enter a range of values and use the starts with.

Basically I want to pull all records that Start with an A or B or C or D etc based on user input.

Does anyone know a way around this?

{table.string}[1] in {?Parameter}

Should do the trick.

I am actually using a formula in my select statement to the starts with {?Parameter}

Like

{@Rep Name} starts with {?Parameter}

how would that work?

Don't use the select expert. Use CR 85user's suggestion--go to report->selection formula->record and enter:

{@Rep Name}[1] = {?Parameter}

You would then enter the first letter in the range values or discrete value prompt boxes.
