Is there a way to start the import wizard from within a foxpro program?

all the options of the import menu item are in the IMPORT command. Except the "import wizard" button, but that simply starts the import wizard, which - like any wizard - is started by starting one of the wizard apps, in this case wzimport.app. I think this is not in the list of files you are allowed to redistribute and include in your applications, though.

Bye, Olaf.

how does one start the wizard within a foxpro program?

like any app: Do some.app, but as I said, wizards are not legally redistrubutable.

Bye, Olaf.

I tried do just that and it gave me an error. Do I have to give it a complete path name? Just FYI I would not be redistributing the software it would be for my own use. Thanks Olaf.

DO (_wizard) WITH "IMPORT"

This will fail in the runtime because the system memory variable, _wizard, will be empty.

Well,

Do (Home()+"Wizards\wzimport.app")

does it for me. But using _wizard - okay - works too.

Bye, Olaf.

Hi Olaf,

I dislike hard-coded paths when they can be avoided.

(More to the point, I don't bother *remembering* something VFP already keeps track of. ;-))
