Using the Enterprise Lite Edition bundled with Crystal 9

Hi

I have a 'freebie' version of Crystal Enterprise which came with Crystal Version 9 Advanced.

I am currently exploring the different options for distributing my reports and am keen to find out more about the Enterprise edition I have on my machine.

I have found the documentation that comes with this lite edition of Enterprise to be weak and it seems that I am not able to run the E-portfolio Launchpad without applying some sort of fix...

Can anyone tell me, in a nutshell, what the main features and limitations of E-portfolio Lite are or perhaps where I should look to find this information?

I have tried looking into all this myself but since there are so many web deployment options I find understanding where to begin very difficult!

This is actually the CR Report Application Server (aka RAS) and should not be confused with Crystal Enterprise as it is widely known.

The 'freebie' version is a standaline version and pretty limited in its functionality.

Have a look on the CD for some PDF docs to have a read through.

You could also have a look at Ken Hamady' site (kenhamady.com) for some information and a compiled listing of 3rd party tools to aid in your hunt for a solution.

Thanks guys.

However if I want to learn about RAS -even the limited edition I have, where do I start?

At the moment I get a 'PAGE NOT FOUND' error everytime I try to launch the e-portfolio lite web page. I have checked that my IIS is set up correctly and the RAS service is started on my machine. Everything seems fine.

I think last time I was advised that there might be a 'Hot Fix' for the problem I am having but when I searched the Crystal Decisions web site I couldn't find anything.

If anyone could give me some ideas on how I can fix this - or if there is tutorial for getting started on RAS I would be enormously grateful. Reporting on the web hasn't been a priority but I am now having to explore options of distributing reports and as well as looking at the viewers on Ken Hamady's website I would like to be able to experiment with what I already have got on my machine.

I really am pulling my hair out over this RAS issue as it is making feel very stupid
