Hello Again,

Sorry but I need some help I have a number field that I want to increment in a form when a new record is created. That means that I need to make of the dmax function. I do not understand how to use this function. I was hoping one of you could perhaps help me with some code for this problem. Also if it means anything i would like the number field to remain unchanged when I duplicate the record.

Thanks very much

Have you tried a keyword search ?
Have you read some faqs ?
And have you pressed the F1 key when the cursor was in the DMax word in your code ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

I want to suggest you look at the autonumber FAQ by Michael Red as an alternative to the dmax function
or even select top 1 rather then using an aggreate function like dmax()
