Using the cancel button on parameter fields

We are running crystal reports through a vb6 program using the activeX control. When we preview a report and the parameters come up on screen there is a cancel button. If you click the cancel button the report runs anyway. Is there a way to stop this happening?

I don't think there is a way, but, if you press cancel the parameter is passed as a null.

You can have something in your record selection like :

If isnull({?paramfield}) then {AnyStringField} = "DONT RUN" else true

then at least your report will return nothing.
