Hi,
I had set up my master page so all pages are numbered automatically. The point is that I don't want the page showing the number on the first page of every chapter. What should I do? Create another master page just for the first pages?

...press command or control + shift and click on the frames that hold the page numbers on your document pages, this overrides master items and you can then delete it...

...or, yes, as you state you can also create masters that don't have numbering involved at all...
