I have a MICS that has 4.1 software left in a building, new tenant wants to use T7316's phones but what's left of old phones are 7310's. Connected a 7316 it seemed to work but in programming does not give option to change to 7316 stays as 7310. Was told by another tech it is okay they will work. Customer wants 20 phones do not want to sell them phones and find out they won't work.

The T7316 will work fine. You will only have 10 buttons for line/intercom appearances. The T7316E will also work. R6.1 software is required if you need more line appearances or want to use the T24 add-on modules. That's normal for the system to see the T7316 as a M7310.

Thank you exsmogger, they do need to have the T-24 add-on modules for the reception areas. My manual says you have to have the 2.0 NVRAM cartridge before attempting to upgrade to 6.0 or higher. I do not have the 2.0 NVRAM cartridge. Do you know what the cost to upgrade to 6.1. I would rather do it now and default the old programming and start from scratch.

Hi I checked with 2 places that I usually get parts no one so far has the 6.0 or 2.0 software. Does anyone have a source for that software? I am in San Diego.

If you are going to upgrade and reprogram from scratch go all the way to 7.1. Still should have the NVRAM 2.

I have the manuals for 4.1 and 6.1 but have not worked with the 7.1 software. I know the 6.1 supports the 2 port Star talk Flash VM 2.0 software which is what is on site. Can not find anything on the internet that says if the 7.1 will support it or if it would have to be upgraded. I just need the T7316e and T-24 to work and the 6.1 will do that. Does anyone know if the VM would work on the 7.1 software.

was just looking through the other pages of threads and saw one that the PRI's sometimes have issues on 6.1 software they are getting a PRI also. I have another customer getting a PRI but can't remember their software level. These will be my 1st customers changing to PRI from POTS lines. Does anyone have PRI's working on the lower software levels.

Hi exsmogger, thank you did you get my vm i left you a message on your phone. thanks Joyce

Any software release 6.0 or higher is stable with PRI, it was the lower versions that had bugs. Don't forget when moving to a PRI you will need a keycode for each system.
