Can someone help me set up Internet Explorer 5 to work with Swing. I guess I need to set this up to use the Sun Java VM and not Microsofts VM, but I can't find out how to do this. My applets look fine with appletviewer but not ie.

Also how do I get Visual J++ 6.0 to work with the Swing classes?

Thanks in advance.

I thing you can type following in a dos box:

appletviewer iexplorer appletname

but I am not sure. If you have jdk installed you should check out the demo direcory. Here are some examples of applets.

Hi Kevin,

What you need is not the Sun JVM but the Java 2 Plugin, downloadable from the java site, along with the example html to make pages using the plugin work on both IE and netscape.

Visual J++ will not work with Swing, the version of java used in J++ is stuck at 1.8. Swing wasn't introduced until java 2.
