I have a data source that contains monthly details of sales forecast for each product:

Part No. Month SalesQty
7000-01 1-04 100
7000-01 2-04 250
etc
SubTotal 2,500

I have a report that needs to include only the SubTotal amount:

Part No. SubTotal Cost Value
7000-01 2,500 10.00 25,000
8125-99 1,000 5.00 5,000
6006-22 3,000 6.00 18,000

I have two problems that I can't seem to fix.

1. The SubTotal comes over from my subreport (using defined variables to pass the data) but it brings the 12 months of data entries with it. I can suppress the repeats to clean up the final report, but is there a better way?

2. I can't sort by the "Value", the SubTotals get confused.

I'm looking for a simply way to combine the summary data and enable sorting.

Suggestions?

Not sure why you're using a subreport.

ANyway, Group by partno, create a summary on the amount by partno, and pass the summary amount in the shared variable at the group footer level, linking via the partno to the main report, you'll get a value for each partno, not month.
