Using SSI with apache

I've just managed to get SSI's working on Apache (version 1.3)

Does anyone know whether I can specify a remote host within this SSI tag:

[red]<!--#include file=&quot;

http://my.remote.server/file.html&quot;

-->[/red]

When I try this, I see the following error:
[red][an error occurred while processing this directive][/red]

If this is not possible, are there any alternative ways to include a file on a remote server?

Hi mate,

SSI can only be used locally, to get a remote file you will need another server-side language (PHP, Perl, Coldfusion, ASP etc)
