using sound with link to image

OHHHHHH k. I have a page of thumbnails that link to the full size images. Clicking the thumbnail brings up the full size image WITHOUT an actual html page. Please take a look at the page if you like to see what I'm talking about.

What I'd like to do is trigger a sound event (wav file) when one of the links is clicked. a different sound file for each image. Obviously I could do this if I was creating a page for each full size image but that would mean a lot of pages and I don't really want to do that. Plus the server that this page is on is one of the free ones and as you can see they put advertising on each page.

Just did a Google search for "onclick" html and got PAGES of results.

ummmm, I looked into that awhile ago but wasn't able to find a way to really make it work. It would either not play the sound, not load the image or not do either. I tried both the on click and mouse over events.
