Using SMS for a software rollout 1

Does anyone know a good site where I can get step by step info on creating and deploying software using sms. I have the Admin guide but it leaves many questions such as what is a mif and what it does. I would just like to see some samples from begininig to end so I can start to understand it better. I am getting some more resource guides but I would like to proceed until I get them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..
