Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to use sip trunks to connect to the IP Office 500 v2 6.0.18 for remote programmng and if so how? The site only has sip trunks and 3 alog trunks. The LAN is connected to a PC that has no internet access. Thanks for any help.

no you cant.

you can use the alog ports.

ask customer to dial *99* and it turns the last ATM port into a modem, and use a dial up modem to dial into it.

Thanks very much, can you use any of the alog line numbers that are connected to the IP office to connect or does it need to be a specific one?

It has to be the first analogue line port on the card, that has the modem attached :)

Hi, Thanks for the reply but now I am a little confused, they have two alog trunk cards in the main 500 unit, so which one would be the modem port and also can that line only be used for remote access or can it be used to dial out as fall back? does it need a modem to be connected the system end or not? Thanks again for your help.

When you dial the code *9000* that sets the first port of the analogue line card to answer using it's built in modem, after you have finished dial *9000* again and it will return to normal operation and can receive calls as any other port can. As for having two cards I am not sure but i imagine it will be the first port of rhte card in the lowest numbered slot i.e Bay 1 of the system :)
