Using shared variables 1

When I am passing a number field in my subreport's detail section to my main report's detail section with a shared variable, the first record is always 0.00. Is there an explanation for this?

If the subreport is in the main report details, and linked on some detail level field, then the subreport will haveto fire PRIOR to using the shared variable in the details of the main report, so right click the details and select insert section below and place the subreport in the details A section above, and then in details section B you can safely reference the shared variable passed back.

Your post lacks information about version of software, database, intent, sample data, report layout, expected output, so it's difficult to advise you further.
