Using Report Application Server in CE 9

We are using Crystal Enterprise 9.0 Professional with Concurrent Access Licensing as our primary internal reporting server. We just purchased an application which is designed to use the CE 9 Report Application Server to deliver integrated reporting.

I'm wondering if, since CE 9 Pro includes a "Report Application Server" component, we can just point this application to our existing CE server, and be saved the expense and trouble of maintaining a separate Report Application Server? Are these interchangeable or does RAS mean something different in CE Pro? I can't find much documentation about this on the BO site.
