I have recently come accross a PSP3 HDD that clearly states on it "this is an OEM item and is not suitable for laptop use.
I formatted it and am planing to use it as a portable HDD.
Has anyone experienced any problems doing so?Any cautions or recommendation on doing so please?
thanks

as far as I know, PS3 HDD's are regular 2.5" SATA drives...

so I see no problem in doing what you are attempting... just be sure that you totally NUKE the first sectors (where the MBR, BootSectors, and Partition Tables reside), in case Sony has deposited some strange information there which could hinder the process...

Darik's Boot and Nuke aka DBAN should do the trick...
