Hello,
I really hope someone can give me some suggestions. I have a full project plan in MS Project right now. I am tracking 4 different parts of the project, which all have their own detailed tasks assigned. I need to be able to take all these tasks, and display them somewhere (I was thinking Visio) by their due dates. Originally, I just created my own Visio drawing and put each task in a box, and manually did it myself. This was ok - but the due dates are changing constantly, and that means I was manually changing my Visio drawing all the time which was very time consuming. I was wondering if there is a way to update my data in MS Project, and then export it and manipulate how I want it to display in Visio. Their timeline drawings don't work, because I need to see each task's detail just on the day it's due. OR- can Project do this all by itself? Can anyone help? I could even show you my original Visio drawing you you could see what I'm talking about. Thanks for any help!!

1. On a daily basis, exactly what fields do you want to see printed?

2. What sort sequence do you need to use?

3. Do you want to see summary tasks?

4. You say "4 different parts". Do you expect these parts to be printed separately?

5. Are there any other conditions which you could express clearly?

The project is tracking 4 different pieces: Clinical, Financial, Interfaces, and Training. Each of these major pieces has each of their own detailed tasks assigned, which have due dates that change. For the calendar I want them in, each month is divided into 4 or 5 weeks - not by the day. I want those tasks (from all 4 pieces) to display in the correct due date it is assigned to, in either week 1 - 5, on my calendar. The fields I want to see in the task is the task number, the desciption and dependencies. Is that possible? Thanks for your help!

File | Save As ...

Save as type: chose Excel Workbook and click on the Save button. This will start the export Wizard.

Click Next.

Click "Selected Data" (default); click Next.

Click "Use Existing Map"; click Next.

Click "Task 'Export Table' map"; click Finish.

As for the week number, choose one of the number fields. RightMouseButton on the column name and click on "Customize Field". This will bring up a popup window. Click on the formula button which will open up a window. Program your formula into it.

You'll have to modify the map to include the field (but that's no big deal now that you're this far along).

There's more data there than you actually need. You can edit Maps and create variations on them. Go wild.

THANK YOU!! I will try it and post if I have any problems! I APPRECIATE IT!
