If I take an internal hard drive from my old pc and use it as an external drive on my new pc, will I still be able to use all the programs on the external drive. Word, Excel, etc. My old pc died and I'd like to use the drive from it on a new pc. Do I have to reinstall programs, etc on the new drive?

Thanks.

More than likely yes, especially for programs like word and excel which always store dll files in the boot drive. Of course it is possible to re-assemble all the dll files (among others) into the correct locations, register them and that sort of thing but its more trouble than its worth...
