I am trying to use a Lucent Definity prologix station extention for trunk lines into a 8x24 with centrex software. The norstar is setup with a dn length of three but the lucent system is set up with the dn length of four. Will this cause me any trouble. Also I am not sure if I need to use centrex software or DR5 for this to work. By having the lucent extentions the customer will still have to dial 9 as for this is what is set up in the lucent switch. Has anyone done this before and could give me some advise on what I should watch for or any tips. Thanks

I remember someone in the past on this forum having some troubles working behind a definity. an area that was for sure giving troubles was the automatic testing that the definity does for analog ports. go back thru the past threads of this forum and you should be able to pick up on it. as far as lengths of digits go you shouldnt see any conflicts since your interface will be pretty much manual. what I mean is that from the definity you will dial the ext of the analog station you will go out of to go into the Trunk port of the norstar. at that point you will ring the trunk on the norstar sets. When a norstar person wants to dial out they will pickup the trunk connected to the definity and hear dialtone from the definity. you also could use an ata on the norstar to go into a trunk port on the definity so that when a definity user grabs the trunk going to the norstar they would hear norstar dial tone from the ata.
