Here are the steps that I took to get to this point:
1. I created a native dBase file and then created a table.
2. I added over 100 entries to my table.
3. I created a query and used the results in a spredsheet.
4. I tried to rename the database using the Options submenu within the Tools menu but I was not successful.
5. From this point on I no longer have the option of creating a new table, query, form or report. The Edit and Insert menu options are all light grey. All of the create options listed in the window panes are light grey (not clickable). I can still edit the existing table and query but I cannot create other queries and etc. I am somewhat desperate. Is there any way to fix this without starting over.

When I rebooted my computer oo Base automatically ran a recovery procedure that fixed my problem.
