Hi,

I've got a parameter that I would like to use to search on multiple fields instead of using one parameter per field.

The problem is that when I set the selection formula to Parameter = A.Field or B.Field or C.Field then I get A x B number of records returned. I have a grouping on A.Field and that did not help. The records returned reside on the A.Field grouptree.

I tried the Select Distinct Records option on the Database menu but I get an error message saying 'Failed to retrieve data from the database...The text data type cannot be selected as DISTINCT because it is not comparable'

This issue does not happen if I separate the fields into 3 parameters.

ideas?

TIA.

Hi,

Resolved my own problem after looking at the query results in management studio and applying suppression formula.
