Hi All

Have recently acquired Office 2000 Developer Edition in the hope of making a packaged database solution that would run any computer with or without Access.

I've installed it on an XP machine which also has Office XP, and seemed to get through the Package & Deployment process OK. The package doesn't install properly on other machines, resulting in a 'system files are out of date' error.

None of the resolution tips in KB 191096 fixes the problem.

Should I be able to create a self-contained application this way, and run it on machines with any Windows/Office versions?

Please search comp.databases.ms-access for better information. I haven't done this so I can't help you, but basically the package & deployment wizard doesn't work 100% of the time.

Please use the link in my signature below--there will be lots of hits as this is a very common issue.

I think that the developper edition should be the SAME version as your professional edition in order to create coherent packages ...

Hope This Helps, PH.

You might also want to consider using a 3rd party package. We use Installshield and other people have spoken highly of SageKey. Check out this post.
