Using ODBC, UDLs and OPENROWSET

Hi,

I am using DTS to update my development server using an ODBC connection to connect to the development server but i was wondering whether using a UDL instead would be quicker?

Please can someone help me as i need to make these as efficient as possible as in some cases its scanning tables over 7 million rows big.

There are several DTS packages that use this method so it would be good to know definitively.
