I have successfully set up my home network using an old 486 as a firewall to forward the IP packets (It is not a proxy but it is a caching DNS server).
All is fine and I can ping anywhere an the internet from an inside machine eg ping I don't seam to be able to set netscape up though. I can only see the service providers web page. If I try to goto for example the browser says contacting... and nothing ever happens, not even an error message.
I think the problem lies in the advanced properties but the only options are "Direct internet connection" and "Proxy connection" neither setting solves the problem.
Does anyone out there know how to cure this problem?
