Using Netscape as a email client with Qmail

I am running qmail, and I can seem to get netscape
email client connect to the server. It rejects the user.
I have no problems with Outlook / express.

Any ideas why it does not work.

I have server type set to pop3
I am useing user@domain.com for user name

What does the /var/log/qmail/*/current or /var/log/maillog say about the failure?

I checked both log files and threre is no error.

The Netscape response is
" The mail server responded: authrorization failed

Please enter a new password"

if you're using qmail's native pop3d ... i can't say anything about this problem. sorry.

but, i had a very similiar problem using netscape doin' an imap connect to my courier-imapd/qmail MX.
i 'fixed' it by generating some MD5-hashes to the user's line in he /etc/passwd.
Anyway, *some* log on your qmail-running machine shold say something about the user's logon was rejected.
