MXE III, release 6.0, software load 12.0.0.49.

Here is the situation: Only used for internal emergency calls at a plant. callers dial 123 which needs to ring 3 locations. 1 location has a 5320 set, and the other 2 have analog sets. I need to find a way to let all 3 locations pick up that call at the same time. The person with the 5320 will do most of the talking, but the analog loc's need to be able to speak if needed.

Not sure if it is possible, but that is what they are requesting. Can it be done using Non Busy Ext?

Any advise would be helpful.

No there is no auto conference feature on the 3300. You can all sets ring at once but the first person answering gets the call. You could use one ONS and bridge it to three locations. Then all would be able to hear.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thanks for your reply, that is how I have it set up now, customer was wanting to change 1 loc to IP.

If you remove privacy from the analog station and make a keyline appearance on the IP set then the Ip set can join the call by pressing the key

Loopylou, the 3300 does have automatic conferencing via non-busy extension, this could also be used but it would require each user to dial 123 to join the call

Thanks I did not know that.

The Non-Busy extension on the 3300 is not as nice as the SX-200

On the SX-200 you can apply Non-Busy to either and analog or a Digital/IP set without impacting the set in any other way.

On the 3300 Non-Busy can only be applied to analog stations and if you do, the extension has no dial tone and cannot dial out.

MIMB wrote a great FAQ on how to circumvent this issue on the 3300 by using loopback trunking with a NBE connected to a Trunk. Using this method, the call to the NBE can be made to ring a Keyline on an IP set, Ring Group, or any other valid termination point.

They're probably going to engrave that faq reference on my tombstone when they lay me under :)
Can't begin to tell you the number of emails I've received about it over the years. Also one from PS in Kanata (forwarded to me via my TAM) - back when we still had TAMS - and yes is does indeed work on the 3300.
