I have an app with a text box where the user needs to type a path, but no file name. I need the directory name so I can write files to it.

Anyway, is there a way to use MS Common Dialog to do this? Otherwise I'll have to use the old Drive and Directory controls and write my own form.

Thanks,
Steve

The source code to show a windows style folder browser(like when you choose 'browse' from the windows Find applet) is available at . From the main page move your mouse over the blue words 'Visual Basic' this will show a form with buttons for different sections of the code library. choose 'File Ops' and about the 4th or 5th program on the list is a 'Windows style file\folder browser'. I just glanced at the code quickly but it looks like everything is done with API calls so theres one less control to package with your app. Ruairi
